What is 3D Secure?
3D Secure (3-domain structure), also known as a payer authentication, protects the buyer's credit/debit card against unauthorised use when shopping online. This additional security was initiated and created by Visa and MasterCard and it’s branded as ‘Verified by Visa’ and ‘MasterCard SecureCode’ respectively. Simply put, it’s a program to help ensure that cards are used only by the owner of the card holder thereby making online purchases more secure. This simple service enables buyers to validate transactions you make over the internet by requesting a personal code (usually sent to your cell phone or email address as a one time PIN).
Debit and credit card payments can be unsuccessful for a number of reasons. If an error message appears on your screen after you try to pay, or if we confirm your payment has not been successful, then you have not been charged.
Card failed authentication or Transaction was blocked by the payment server because it did not pass all risk checks:
If for any reason you did not get the one time pin (OTP) sent to your phone by your bank to validate the transaction on our website please call your bank to register your card into the 3D secure program as your credit card may not have been registered by your bank and this process is an easy fix for your bank. Credit cards that have 3D secure registered will get an OTP sent to the card holder phone to validate your online purchase. Use a browser that allows pop ups. Enter the OTP sent to your phone number on the popup window so you can validate the transaction. This process is a security to prevent unauthorize use of the card holders credit card.
3D Secure Verification Issue:
If your card is flagged as not 3D Secure, or if you’re having issues with the 3D Secure data not being accepted (Verified by Visa/Mastercard Secure etc.), it is best to contact your bank to confirm if there is an issue and to make sure your card is 3D Secure. If the issue persists, you can always make an ACH transfer to us instead (if possible) or use an alternative card.
Invalid transaction-do not honor or Payment Declined - By Your Bank:
The most common reason for an unsuccessful card payment is that your bank has declined it. This means they have sent a 'Do Not Honour' response to clearstreamz payment gateway. It's normal for them to stop a payment that they might perceive to be unusually large or to a new and unknown recipient - just in case. The best way to resolve this is to give your bank a quick call, let them know it is you making this payment and that clearstreamz is a trusted recipient. Once they've confirmed this, your next attempt should be successful.
If your credit or debit card is 3D secure enabled you will be redirected to either master card securecode or verified by visa page. If for any reason the page is stuck then you may have to change your browser to chrome or firefox. Some anti-virus or firewall software can affect your card payment. With anti-virus software, please add clearstreamz to the list of "safe merchants". Please also make sure that any anti-virus or firewall software that you have installed will allow pop ups.
Payment Declined By Clearstreamz Payment Merchant:
In order to protect you from potentially fraudulent activity, our payment merchant can also deny your payment. This is often because your card has been issued in a country we don't currently support. If this is the case, you'll need to use an alternative payment method - either a bank transfer or a different card. Contact us.
Your bank might also stop your card payment if there isn't enough money in your account or if you have a per-transaction limit. They could also be treating your payment as 'cash withdrawal.
